Honor Your Hero

This year’s theme for the 2012 Tuscaloosa Regional Air Show presented by McAlister's Deli is "Honoring our Heroes" and we couldn't be more excited about it!  The 2012 air show will serve as an opportunity for the City of Tuscaloosa, Northport and Tuscaloosa County to give back to all of our heroes at this premier event.  Whether you are a teacher, parent, civic leader, veteran, tornado survivor, first responder, coach (the list could go on!), you or someone you know has most likely impacted someone else's life.  We want to use this opportunity to personally thank you.  Please continue to check back to learn how we are honoring our heroes at this event and to learn how you can honor your hero at the 2012 Tuscaloosa Regional Air Show presented by McAlister's Deli!

"My Hero" Essay Contest
Who is your hero?  To help celebrate the theme for the 2012 Tuscaloosa Air Show, The City of Tuscaloosa and McAlister's Deli is pleased to announce our first annual essay contest on the following topic, "My Hero".  High School students within Tuscaloosa County are eligible for participation.  Students will write a 500 word, or less, essay on someone who they knew, through an act of kindness, courage or unselfishness, has made a positive impact on their life...their hero.  Twenty-five (25) winners will be selected.  Each winner will receive two (2) tickets to the 2012 Tuscaloosa Regional Air Show presented by McAlister's Deli Pilot's Reception, which serves as an exciting opportunity to meet and interact with our air show performers...including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels!  We look forward to interacting with the high school students in Tuscaloosa County and learning about their heroes!
